What we do with your information.

We use what you send us to reply to you, and for nothing else. The sections below set out what that means in practice. Last updated 15 October 2026.

Who we are

Hyde Media is a business partnership of Duncan Hyde and Helen Hyde, based near Tetbury, Gloucestershire. We are responsible for the personal information described on this page. Questions about it go to Duncan at duncan@hyde-media.co.uk.

The contact form, and email

When you use the form on our contact page, we receive your name, your email address, your business name if you give it, and your message. The form is sent through Web3Forms, a service that turns it into an email to us. Our email is with Google Workspace, so an email you send us directly ends up in the same place.

We use what you send to reply to you and, if we end up working together, to do that work. In data protection terms, our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in answering an enquiry you chose to send, and then the contract between us. We never add you to a mailing list, and we never pass your details to anyone else to market to you.

How long we keep it

We keep an enquiry for as long as the conversation needs it. Records of paid work are kept for as long as tax law requires a business to keep its records. If you ask us to delete an enquiry that did not turn into work, we will.

Cookies and analytics

We use Google Analytics to see which pages help people most, and only if you choose Ok on the banner when you first arrive. If you choose No, no analytics cookies are set, your answer is remembered for a month, and nothing on the site changes. Google's handling of the data it collects is described in Google's privacy policy. Beyond that, the only thing the site stores in your browser is your choice of the light or dark theme, if you make one, and your answer to the banner; neither is sent to us.

Videos

The showreel on our video production page plays from YouTube in its privacy-enhanced mode, so YouTube sets no cookies unless you press play. Once you do, Google's privacy policy applies. Links to our other films open on YouTube itself.

Where the site is hosted

The site is served by Cloudflare. Like any web host, Cloudflare sees the internet address a request comes from, so it can deliver the page and protect the site from attacks; we do not use that to identify anyone. The fonts are served from this site, so no font service sees your visit.

Work we do for clients

Where we handle personal information as part of a client's project, such as the client records in an app we build, we do so on the client's behalf and under our agreement with them. That agreement, not this page, sets out how the information is used. How we keep sensitive client data on our own hardware is on the Studio page.

Your rights

You can ask us for a copy of the information we hold about you, ask us to correct it or delete it, and object to how we use it. Email duncan@hyde-media.co.uk and we will reply within a month, usually much sooner.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office. We would appreciate the chance to put it right first.

Got a thing you always said would be a good idea?

Tell Duncan what it is. If it is not a fit, he will say so, and try to point you at someone who is.
