A website you can run yourself, built to be found.
Duncan Hyde builds websites for businesses, and does the search and advertising work that brings people to them. You can update the site yourself, and you will know what the search work is for and what it changed.

Websites, search and Google Ads
A site you can update yourself
A new site, or a rebuild of the one you have. We start with what the site is for: the enquiry, the booking, the sale, or simply being found by the people already looking for you. Built on whichever platform suits the job, including WordPress, Shopify, Squarespace and Wix, and we show you how to make your own changes, so there is no ongoing cost unless you want us to look after it.
Found on Google, and in AI answers
Search engine optimisation is the work of making a website show up for the searches your customers actually make. Much of it is methodical and some of it is technical, which is why it so often gets left. One-off foundations or regular monthly work, and either way a written note of what was done and what changed. More people now ask an AI assistant instead; the fundamentals overlap, and we build with both in mind. What nobody can promise is a guaranteed place in those answers, and we will not.
Google Ads, with the numbers to show for it
Advertising on Google works when it is set up carefully and read regularly. We set up and run Google Ads campaigns, including Shopping campaigns for online shops, which Duncan runs for ebikeist, a premium e-bike shop, and the Google Ad Grant, which we have run for a registered charity for the past few years. The results are read every week against the week before: what the money did, what it brought in, and what to do next. Google Analytics is set up so the numbers are ones you can trust and understand. Email too: campaigns for shops and B2B firms, and the automated emails behind them.
Search engine optimisation, for eleven years
Duncan Hyde has done search engine optimisation (SEO) for many businesses over the last eleven years, and more recently the newer work of being found in the answers AI assistants give, sometimes called AEO. At ebikeist, a premium e-bike shop, that meant making sure AI answers followed its change of name from EDEMO and cited the new site correctly. This site is built for both: plain pages, structured data and a file written for AI crawlers.
Branding, with the website
Duncan Hyde has designed brands and built websites for businesses for many years, from the first consultation through the design to the full build: the logo, the colours and the type, and the site that carries them, so everything a customer sees matches.
An old site on hosting that is ending
If your site sits on hosting that is closing, or on an installation that has not been updated in years, we can move it without losing what was found before. In October 2026 we moved two: hyde-media.co.uk itself, and maternalbalance.co.uk, Helen's WordPress site, rebuilt as a static copy on Cloudflare, where the hosting now costs nothing and only the domain is paid for. Every old address redirects to its new one.
Clients we have built for
Since 2018: software firms, online shops, builders, charities, consultancies, schools and coaches. Four of them:
Integrator Housing Solutions
Asset management software for housing associations. Their website, their B2B email campaigns, search, and Helen's films, over several years.
ebikeist
A premium e-bike shop. Its Shopify site, built from scratch, and guide.ebikeist.com, the buyer's guide beside it.
Wildlife World, now Wildlife Community
Products for garden wildlife, sold online. Search and digital marketing from Duncan, beside Helen's product films.
Different Strokes
A charity for younger stroke survivors. Search on their WordPress site from 2022, then their Google Ad Grant.
How it works, and what it costs
Every project is quoted before it starts, with the scope written down. Ongoing search and advertising work is charged by the day. You will deal with Duncan throughout, from the first conversation to the site going live and beyond.
Because search is part of how we build, a new site is set up to be found from the day it goes live, with Google Analytics and Search Console in place so you can see what happens next. The buyer's guide we built for an e-bike shop was designed from the start to be the page an AI answer draws on.
