About

Hyde Media, helping businesses since 2018.

A partnership, founded by Helen and Duncan Hyde near Tetbury, after years at the BBC and ITV for Helen and in retail, ecommerce and digital marketing at Cotswold Outdoor for Duncan. We work with businesses that want something built properly by people who get to know how they work first.

Duncan Hyde

Duncan Hyde

Builds the software, the websites and the marketing. Duncan started on the shop floor at Cotswold Outdoor and moved into its ecommerce team, where he specialised in search, then ran ecommerce at Mistral before leaving in 2018 to start Hyde Media with Helen. That makes eleven years in ecommerce and digital marketing before he wrote a line of code, and since 2018 the websites, search, Google Ads and email for software firms, online shops, builders, charities and coaches. That is where the commercial instinct in the builds comes from: what a shop needs day to day.

What he enjoys most is the building: taking something a business has only ever talked about and making it work, then watching it get used. The systems behind the builds interest him as much as the builds themselves. Hyde Media's own work runs on one he made, a set of automated routines that keep the records, write the weekly briefs and check the numbers, and each client project draws on what that has taught him.

He still works part-time with ebikeist, a premium e-bike shop, on strategy, search and tooling, which keeps the work close to the realities of running a business online. His own builds, with what each one taught him, are in the Studio.

Helen Hyde

Helen Hyde

A communications specialist with over 20 years' experience across the media industry, Helen started her working life in press relations before becoming a journalist herself.

As News Editor, she launched Newbury Sound radio station to the listeners of West Berkshire before moving into television and becoming a BBC and ITV trained TV producer and camera operator. She has worked across daytime consumer television, including Crimewatch Roadshow, The One Show, X-Ray and Coast and Country, but now focuses on the camera we all have in our pockets, the humble smartphone. Combining a journalist's storytelling with hands-on experience in content creation.

She makes the films and teaches smartphone filming, with courses delivered to the National Film and Television School and Channel 4. Her documentary for The Good Shed, Track Tales, is on YouTube.

How Hyde Media is set up

Hyde Media is a partnership between Helen and Duncan Hyde, and has been since September 2018. A limited company with the same name was registered that year in case the partnership ever needed one. It never traded, and it was dissolved in 2024.
